Minutes from the Oct. 17 NextGen Collaboration Meeting
Overview: On October 17, 2023, Web Enterprise Business (WEB) held the first collaboration meeting for the WEB NextGen platform pilot program. NextGen supports the Sectary of Defense’s Directive-type Memorandum (DTM) 21-001, DoD Public Web Program which directs the Defense Media Activity (DMA) to manage a centralized service for all of DoD’s public facing websites. Meeting Information: The meeting was hosted through Microsoft Teams and lasted from 1300 EDT to 1440 EDT.

The future of the Defense Media Activity official public DOD websites may include many of the GSA offers, among them, the digital analytics program (DAP), Touchpoints online digital forms and compliance scanning. Additional details about the DAP program are available on the digital.gov website. A display of the near real time views of federal websites is available at https://analytics.usa.gov/. According to the White House Fact Sheet on Digital Experience, only 2% of federal forms are digital. The GSA Touchpoints digitals forms is an effort to change that. WEB NextGen Contract Awarded
The Defense Media Activity Web Enterprise Business (WEB.mil) is excited to announce that the contract to develop and run a pilot for the WEB NextGen system was awarded on September 26, 2023! This system is being tested to determine if it could be used to fulfill the Public Web Directive Type Memo (DTM) requirements. Units have submitted numerous candidates for pilot websites from the various Department components. Thank you! DMA WEB is always open to further feedback while working to finalize details on the pilot in the coming weeks. The WEB NextGen team will host a teleconference call starting at 1 PM EST on October 17th

Getting Access to a DMA-hosted Official DOD Public-Facing Website
FORT MEADE, Maryland — Everyone managing a DMA-hosted official DOD public-facing website must have a DOD Common Access Card (CAC). Currently, to get management access to an AFPIMS official DOD public facing website, begin by having someone in the unit who is already recognized in the system writing an email to the service desk that includes the name of the new website user, the roll they will require (Website Manager, Content Manager, Content Provider), the supervisor’s name, phone number and email and a copy of the individual’s current Information Assurance completion certificate.
